What We Believe
The Bible
The Bible is God's Word intended for all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Bible was written by divine inspiration, and there is no error of any kind in it. Therefore, it is the eternal and only truth. It is the supreme source of faith in Christ and of truth for living.
God
God is the creator and ruler of the universe. God exists eternally and has three divine persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three Godheads are the same and the only God - "distinction without separation". This is called the Trinity.
Mankind
Mankind was created in the spiritual image of God and made in His likeness - "image of God". Man is the highest of God's creations. Man has the potential to do good, but his entire existence was compromised by sin. Adam sinned, and in Adam the whole human race became sinners. Man will be justly judged by eternal judgment as a result.
Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God to humanity. A person cannot atone for his sins by his own efforts or good works. It is only by believing in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and repentance of sin, can one be saved from eternal judgment. Eternal life begins the moment one believes in Jesus Christ as Savior and repentance of sin.
Jesus
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is equal to the Father. Jesus came into the world as a Savior, lived a perfect, sinless life as a human being, and offered His own life as a sacrifice to God in full payment for the sins of all men by dying on the cross. Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after His death to manifest His power over sin and death. He was then taken up to heaven in glory, but He will return once more to earth as King of kings and Lord of lords.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit also dwells, teaches, and guides all Christians from the moment of salvation. The Holy Spirit gives wisdom and power to the Christian to live holy, to understand biblical truths, and to lead him to right conduct. Christians seek to live under the control of the Holy Spirit daily.
The Church
The Church is not the building. It is the people of God through faith in Jesus Christ. The Church takes on two forms. There is the "Universal Church", which is composed of all Christians. The Church is the body and bride of Christ, formed by the baptism of the Holy Spirit. There is also the "Local Church". The Local Church is the local assembly of Christians who, through the baptism of the Holy Spirit, have been made partakers of the Body of Christ in a specific location. The mission of the church is to carry the testimony of its head, Jesus Christ, and its gospel to all nations.
Eternity
Mankind was created to exist eternally. One is either eternally separated from God by sin or reconciled to God through salvation in Jesus Christ. Hell is a place of eternal separation from God. Heaven is a place prepared for those who are given eternal life through faith. Heaven is a place where one is completely reconciled to God, completely free from sin, and lives with God forever.
